Vacancy: UNIC Student Board

The UNIC team at EUR is searching for a student assistant (0,1 fte, 4 hours per week).

Are you interested in contributing to the future of Erasmus University Rotterdam? Do you believe in the importance of student participation? Do you want to help build a new type of educational institution?

Starting from 1 October 2021 until 30 September 2022, the UNIC team at EUR is looking for a Student Board representative.


Since October 2020, Erasmus University Rotterdam has been the leader of a new EU initiative: the European University. Together with seven other universities, Erasmus University has formed the European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC), which aims to boost mobility and inclusion. UNIC is not just developing education, we are revolutionizing it, and students are truly at the heart of this European University.


To ensure that the student perspective, every university of UNIC has one student representative, who represents their university in the UNIC Student Board. The UNIC Student Board is responsible for assuring the representation and integration of the student perspective in the UNIC activities. As a board representative, you and the representatives from all eight partner universities will meet monthly to discuss, advise and consent on university-wide plans.

What are you going to do

  • Represent Erasmus University Rotterdam in the UNIC Student Board;
  • Attend meetings with the UNIC Student Board, the EUR-based UNIC team, and content-related working groups;
  • Represent UNIC at events and conferences (both nationally and internationally);
  • Consult with different student organizations at the EUR;

What do we require of you


The UNIC Team is looking for someone who:

  • is registered as an EUR student and is aware of the EUR campus culture;
  • is interested in education policy;
  • has affinity with student participation;
  • understands the mission of UNIC and how it is being implemented at EUR;
  • is willing to work 4 hours per week, for now most of the work will be hybrid. This could change in accordance with (new) corona measures;
  • is able to speak (or willing to learn) to speak in front of groups;
  • enjoys cooperating with other motivated students;
  • is fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is preferable

Labour conditions

We offer a student assistant contract for 4 hours per week with a competitive salary. Your contract will start on 1 October 2021 and end on 30 September 2022.
