"400 m2 of Hope" is an art and nature initiative based on the concept of rewilding, i.e. the spontaneous renaturation of habitats altered by human activity. The idea of rewilding is to restore biodiversity, including wild plants and animals, using natural regenerative processes. The project is implemented in the center of the city, a place with strong anthropogenic impact. It is an artistic spectacle - a dynamically changing, living artwork that can be observed for years and even decades to come.

Natalia Ratajczyk, Ph.D. - an environmental scientist from the Department of Biogeography, Paleoecology and Nature Conservation at the University of Lodz, working on issues related to nature conservation in the city, public perception of green spaces, problems of sustainable development.

Michał Zadara, Ph.D.- a theater director known for his excellent adaptations of classic and contemporary literature, but also for his bold, experimental performances. Creator of the project-spectacle “400m2 of Hope”, in which the biggest role is played by non-human performers: plants, invertebrates, small mammals, sun, earth, water.
