The University of Deusto joins the commemoration of the International Day against violence suffered by women for being women. A day in which the university community seeks to strengthen its awareness of this social scourge, reaffirming its active commitment to eradicate all violence against women and claiming safe spaces. Throughout the week before the event, the Gender Equality Unit of the University of Deusto distributed information and brochures about sexual and gender-based harassment and resources on sexist violence in the Basque Country on both Bilbao and San Sebastian campuses. One of the main objectives is Advancing towards full and effective equality. The University of Deusto actively promotes the gender perspective in education and research, fostering cultural change to combat discrimination against girls and young people. Efforts are made to ensure equitable access to education, improve workplace equity, enhance public representation, and prevent sexual or sexist violence.
