This international workshop is a collaboration between Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) and University College Cork (UCC), offering university educators the opportunity to engage with Virtual Exchange (VE), also known as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Through this interactive session, participants will reflect on their own teaching culture and explore the diverse teaching and learning cultures of their international partners.

You will work together with fellow educators to design a Virtual Exchange setting for your students, developing initial ideas for fostering intercultural collaboration within a VE framework.

Key Learning Outcomes:
After attending this workshop, you will be able to:
• Understand how cultural influences shape teaching and learning processes at universities.
• Identify intercultural challenges that your students may face in a Virtual Exchange environment.
• Apply various teaching activities to support Virtual Exchange and promote intercultural learning among your students.
• Collaborate with educators across Europe on Virtual Exchange initiatives for future student engagement.
