In this international workshop, you will prepare a comprehensive concept for the implementation of Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) in your courses. This workshop aims to facilitate the transformation of your currently coordinated course into the CBL model, enhancing student engagement and collaborative learning.

You will connect with university educators from partner universities within the UNIC Alliance, based in countries including Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.

Key Learning Outcomes:
After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

  • - Understand the specifics of the CBL method as a way to organize a course with students and the stages of its implementation.
  • - Recognize the roles and tasks of students and academic teachers at different stages of CBL and the significance of their systematic engagement.
  • - Comprehend the impact of using the CBL method as a didactic solution on student development regarding skills, social competencies, and preparation for future professional tasks.

Workshop Structure:
The workshop consists of three parts, with each meeting lasting 90 minutes. Before the first session, reading materials will be published on the Sciebo platform and sent to individual email addresses. Familiarizing yourself with these materials is essential for productive discussions and teamwork during the workshop (a flipped classroom model). The workshop will not be recorded, ensuring an interactive experience.

Important Details:

Attendance for the full duration of all sessions is mandatory. A Zoom link will be sent via email prior to the event. The registration will close once the workshop reaches a maximum capacity of 35 participants (3-4 people per university).
